French fries are ubiquitous. They’re perfect for lunch and dinner and can be eaten as a snack but the best way to eat them is when it’s fresh piping hot! There’s so many different ways to make french fries but this recipe is a quick and simple one.

Ingredients
1 large russet potato
3 cups of olive oil or avocado oil
pinch of salt to taste
parsley flakes(Optionals)
Directions
- Clean and wash the russet potato.
- Peel and cut potato into slices. (Peeling potato is optional but just be sure the potato is cleaned/washed well to remove all the dirt)
- Rinse starch from potato slices with running water.
- Thoroughly pat the potato slices dry.
- Heat oil at 375 degrees F and carefully place french fries into the heated oil
- Fry for 4-5 minutes per batch or until golden brown, occasionally stirring the fries. (Be sure to not overload the pot with potato slices and divide it up by 2 batches if necessary)
- Take out the cooked french fries and place them on a bed of paper towel to blot out excess oil.
- Sprinkle a pinch of salt and/or seasoning to taste and serve.
Notes
- For extra crispy fries, after taking it out, increase the oil temperature to about 380-390 degrees and refry them for about 5 minutes or so.
- French fries can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days after it cools down.
